Attitude of Gratitude Journal

I am giving myself the challenge of having an “Attitude of Gratitude” and creating an Attitude of Gratitude Journal that I can add to, when I need to remind myself of all the things I have to be grateful for. .

The purpose of this challenge is not to worry about making something that’s “perfect” or “pretty”. Its more about getting it out of my head and into a physical book that I can look at on those days I forget about all the ways I have been blessed.

This book is also an opportunity for me to play with some of those art supplies that I have and never pull out to use, either because I have forgotten I have them or I’m not sure how to use them.

I am 10 days into this now and I have had a great time playing with my supplies and trying new things.

I have learned a lot about what I like and don’t like. What works and doesn’t work. I have discovered some techniques I would love to try on a larger scale.

But most of all … I am enjoying the process of remembering all the little things in my life that I have to be grateful for.

So, do you want to see what I have done so far?

Take a look….

Remember, I was not worried about the result of my art, so I know some of these pages are very crude looking. A lot of the art is just me playing with my supplies, getting color down on the paper and seeing how different techniques work.
Also, I didn’t want the pages to take more than about 15 minutes to make. If they took any longer, then I was thinking too much and my focus switched from what I had to say, to trying to make “pretty” art.

Even though I am sharing some of my pages with you, in the end this book will be for “My Eyes Only,” and a place for me to go and reflect on my blessings when I need to be reminded.

Sometimes when you are creating, maybe it’s the words on the paper that become the art.

I challenge you to start an “Attitude of Gratitude Journal” for yourself.  We can all take a few minutes out of our day and remind ourselves of all of the wonderful things in our lives.

I am grateful that you took the time to stop by.

Keep creating,

Brandy
